Share the Care Event is a community project to raise funds to recruit more foster carers for the many children in need of temporary or ongoing foster care. The focal point of our fundraising effort is our Black Tie dinner, to be held in Sydney on 2 July 2011, where guests can enjoy being entertained and taking part in the silent and live auctions for some fabulous items.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to The Benevolent Society's Fostering Young Lives Program. We are currently in a foster care crisis, as the number of children requiring foster care in NSW far outweighs the number of available carers. But you don't have to become a foster carer yourself to show you care. Through supporting Share The Care Event, we can all help to recruit more carers for children who, through no fault of their own, have been denied the happy, stable upbringing so many of us took for granted.

Funds raised will greatly help the Fostering Young Lives Program recruit more carers, resulting in a brighter future for the foster children, whilst also alleviating the strain on existing, over-stretched carers. By sharing the effort, we can make a big difference.

You can support this effort in a number of simple ways;

• ᅠᅠᅠTreat yourself to a fantastic night out of dinner, drinks and dancing or organise a table of 10

• ᅠᅠᅠView our great items online for our silent auction

• ᅠᅠᅠMake a donation by emailing donations@sharethecareevent.com
